SKRA LAKE

The village of Skra whose original name was Lumnitsa in 1452, just one year before the Fall of Constantinople. After some important battles for the union of the settlement with Greece during the Macedonian Struggle, the village takes its name from the nearby peak of Scra di Legen, which means “Cradle of Rocks”. Those who love nature and activities it will be enchanted by the landscape and the impressive waterfalls of Skra, but also by the deep blue lake, known as the “Blue Lake”. The First World War-Battle Museum Skra has been in operation since May 2002 and one can see the events of the battles and their historical importance for the country. A dip in its deep blue waters will rejuvenate you and bring you in touch with nature and the wonderful landscape of the area.
